Estate Vineyard – Gewurtztraminer

Oldest plantings on the property, planted in 1978 and just below the main house. The vines are own-rooted (not on rootstock, something that’s relatively rare now, but was common in the 1960s and 1970s). The underlying soil is sandy clay loam over a bedrock of sandstone.

Estate Vineyard – Pinot Noir

These vines are located on the property just above the Vineyard Cottage and were planted in 2005. The vineyard was previously planted in 1989 to Gewurztraminer. The soil is predominantly clay loam over a bedrock of granite (the same formation found in Lithia Park and Mt. Ashland). Total acreage on this block is .7 acres in 8’ x 6’ spacing.

Estate Vineyard – Tempranillo

These vines were planted in 2005 and sit just above the winery on the property. The soil is a mixture of clay loam and sandy loam, and parts of the block sit over sandstone while others are over granite.

Cedar Ridge — Syrah & Tempranillo

The vines were planted in 2004 and are approximately .28 miles west of the winery. The soils are predominantly sandy clay loam with a mixture of sandstone and granite bedrock (similar to the Estate Tempranillo). The site is split 50/50 between Syrah and Tempranillo.

Avra Vineyard — Grenache & Viognier

The vines were planted in 2005 and are approximately 0.38 miles west-northwest of the winery. The soils here are the same as Cedar Ridge: sandy clay loam with a mixture of sandstone and granite bedrock. The site is split between Grenache (60%) and Viognier (40%).

Meadowlark Vineyard — Grenache, Syrah & Viognier

These vines were planted in 2000 and are approximately 2.84 miles north-northwest of the winery. The soils here are extremely shallow, some clay loam covering ancient river cobbles with granite bedrock. This site is split between Grenache (55%), Syrah (42%) and a small amount of Viognier (3%).
